Investigative Due Diligence

  • BGI assists global corporations, investment/merchant banks, private equity firms, hedge funds, and corporate lawyers by profiling companies and their key principals.

  • In order to supply clients with the timely information they require about their potential business partners, we assemble an array of investigative resources around the world, including former law enforcement officials, intelligence experts, journalists, industry experts, and career corporate investigators.

  • BGI has decades of experience utilizing a combination of online, onsite, and open-source records, including the current and historical web, blogs, social networks, and specialized databases only available to licensed private investigators. Our Web Intelligence feature uses artificial intelligence to scour social networks and the sub-surface web, including the “Deep” and “Dark” web and unindexed blogs and message boards. For litigation filings not available online, we send operatives to courthouses and regulatory offices.

  • Our field investigators are skilled at identifying, locating, and obtaining useful information through interviews with confidential sources and individuals who are knowledgeable about our subjects, such as former employees, competitors, litigants, and industry sources and analysts.

  • With regard to individuals, we look for signs of unethical practices, unexplained wealth, evidence of corruption, etc. Concerning companies, we look for hidden issues that may not emerge in traditional due diligence.
